The guys who put the RNAV M 26 into Kodiak had a good time with naming the fixes on the missed approach...

Not in my Jepps for Alaska.

Wow, that’s some kind of terrain, on the missed approach. I’m surprised that got into an approach.

Where do you find that approach? I don’t see it in the government plates on Foreflight orAirnav.

It’s a special Alaska Airlines RNAV RNP approach.

Years ago up around JFK there were three right near each other...PORKK, FLIED, RICED. They took them down because they became non-PC. One of the pilots I werked with in the 90's pointed out that ATC was assigning a fix off LGA and TEB? that was not easily referenced. As a cure the FAA named it HINES after him. There was and a lot of fixes with funny names. There are a bunch of old funny named fixes that aren't around anymore.

Also, we have a approaches names GOOFY 7 and MINEE 5. In case you didn't know where Walt Disney World is located...

A bunch of good ones in there. I like MNURE.

I bet all of them have some significance even though I can't figure them all out.

WAILN as in wailing music or Waylon Jennings. Of course MUSEK. DBOYS.

Nice thing about the piglet arrivals that almost everyone knows how to pronounce the waypoint names.

Around Detroit and Cleveland too... lots of astronomy-themed names like SSUNN, MOONN, MAARS, GEMNI, LLEEO, even AZTRO... and for hockey fans, there's one named HHOWE.

There used to be some football-themed ones around there, geared toward U of M I think... but I don't see them there any more.
