Hello all,

Does anyone know of an insurance company who does GA option in their umbrella policies?

Hello all,

Does anyone know of an insurance company who does GA option in their umbrella policies?
I do not know of any and would be surprised if one exists. Years ago some companies included aviation in the policy but not anymore.

When I went for an umbrella policy,I was told no way ,no insurance company would write it. That was two years ago.

Very few underwriters even look at anything aviation anymore, and certainly not the usual list of suspects you would go to for umbrella or other coverages. Aviation is a specialty niche of the insurance world, and getting smaller (and more expensive) by the day.

Lyods.

But what are you actually looking for?

Tim
I assume you meant Lloyds, but they aren't an insurance company and you can't buy any policy directly from them.

My umbrella policy disclaims coverage on anything other than the scheduled airlines. I'm not covered for my recreational flying or anything that happens on a charter flight. I'm stuck with the measly liability policy on my aviation policy. It's a bit more involved for us as we live on an airport.

I haven't checked in a few years, but at one point, my (non-aviation sector) employer-provided umbrella coverage did not exclude aviation. It was a Chubb policy.
