So who has the best TSIO-360 cylinders?

excessive blow-by, oil going overboard - low compression on three cylinders - visual inspection shows crosshatching polished out - didn't get a report on what valves looked like 'cause borescope couldn't see'em

Clark, call Seth, he's a great guy and a magician with cylinders. He'll have great insight for you.

That can be fixed with a hone and a ring job as long as they still measure out ok.

Send them to Charley.

Top job is complete through initial ground runs. Went with refurbed cylinders from Victor Aviation. Flow matched cylinders and hand lapped valves at about the same price as everyone else. Plus is didn't have to return old cylinders so saved a little shipping.

Nothing really wrong with old cylinders other than polished smooooooth. Valves looked unremarkable - a little rust on the exhaust valves but nothing burned. Pistons looked good other than some lead and carbon deposits. Nice to know that I didn't burn anything with my (planned and unplanned) mixture experiments or with running LOP.

Also had turbocharger inspected & refurbed while down.

Will get a couple hours run-in as recommended in Continental note when weather improves a bit. Hope the durn thing quits spewing oil...

Clean em up, take a hone to them, get some new rings and have a set of spares.

Prolly do something like that. Disassembly, cleaning, and inspection to see what I've really got. I'm thinkin' there has to be valve damage but maybe not...anyway, I will eventually have spare cylinders.

If they aren't burned, a drill and some lapping compound will do the valves and seats just fine.
