Day one complete. Won't be able to do the checkride tomorrow due to weather but I should be able to finish Sunday. So far I must say it is highly worth the travel time to train with T Brady. Once I finish I will do a write up although there really isn't much to write up because it's pretty straight forward.

Good luck! The whole east coast looks like it's going to get pounded with rain tomorrow.

Thanks. I'm here till Thursday either way so I should be good to go.

Cool, yep, ME is as straight forward as it gets, it isn't particularly difficult, it just adds an extra level in of required consideration is all.

KCAD or KTVC these days? My wife's family is from KCAD so it would be very convenient to do my CMEL with him

KCAD. The airport is perfect for the training. I wish I had family here to maximize the savings potential.

I'm just trying to decide whether I want to get multi private, or just hold off until I have commercial single and then do the multi add-on.

Why do you want the multi private if your just going to get a multi commercial eventually?

Will you have an opportunity to fly twins that you don't have to pay for before then? If so yes, if you are on a dedicated track to a flying career, every hour of multi is an advantage.

If no, then there is no value. If you intend to get both commercials, then the best thing to do is do the initial commercial ME, then you can add on the CSEL in a 172 or whatever.

I had 60hrs TT and Travelair,. Ownership and opportunity to build free /cheap multi time in pursuit of a career are the reasons I see. Lot of flying can be done in 210 hrs.

I suppose I have joined the league of temporary airmen once again. I will post a write up tomorrow.

Brief write up.

The experience was a pleasure. The aircraft was nice and you can tell he really takes care of his planes. The instruction was great and came from someone who truly knows his stuff. Brand new MEIs can be excellent but training with a guy who's been in the game so long is irreplaceable.

First day.

Ground session that covered the basics of multi flight and systems of the aircraft.

Flight #1
Went out looked at the plane, talked about some things and then went flying. We did all the required maneuvers and headed back for the instrument approach and some landings.

He had another student queued up so when we finished the flight he went back up and I went to eat and look over my notes.

Flight 2.
Same thing as flight 1 but with more engine failures.

Day 2 no flying due to low clouds. He wanted to try and see if we could get up but I was in no rush so I just hung out at the hotel and looked over some notes again.

Day 3 was exactly like day 1 but the checkride came after the second flight of the day. I was really impressed with the DPE and couldn't say enough good things about the entire operation.

I was able to work out a scholarship for funding so the entire thing set me back the cost of hotel rooms $500 (hampton inn) which could have been cheaper and the flight to GRR which was $300.

Did you do the check ride with Bob or Kevin?

Good deal, congrats. When I did my PPME with 70 hrs, 10 in my Travelair, I did it with a SoCal lady named Betty Faux who was also a WWII WASP. Due to weather we flew two days (went out SVFR day 1 figuring it would clear by the time we got back to do the landings, it didn't) and in those two flights I probably learned the equivalent amount of stuff to which I had previously learned. What was best was at least half of it was directly pertinent to my plane since she had a couple thousand hours in type.
