I'm driving up north tomorrow and I always seem to hit Nashville
around 5pm. I go up I-24. Is it any faster to use Briley Pkwy (hwy 155) that skirts around to the east side of town?

Thats what I do....whether it saves time or not, I don't know for sure, but I believe that it does. In the least, its much less frustrating, which makes it worth it for me.

Anytime you can miss the downtown area where all the interstates come together it is good.

Also, you have probably noticed that there has been construction ongoing along the interstates around downtown since the civil war.

I was in the area a couple weeks ago for a couple days. Briley had much less traffic than 24/40/440/65.

Thanks, guys. It's like 5 miles farther but looked like it was worth
checking out. I'll try that tomorrow. It surely can't be any worse
than downtown at rush hour.

Going that way worked out great ... less than half the time it normally takes me .. in spite of it being a longer route.
