Transponder test from an SLSA

Hi everyone.
SLSA testing of transponder out of the aircraft.
May the Owner remove, have it tested, at an approved station, and put it back, after repair, if needed.
Or just put it back, if no repair needed.
Is an A&P or IA required?

radio repair station must re rack it and check it for proper ops,per the rules unique to transponders.this rule has been overlooked quite often .but with all this in.out sideways adsb crap good excuse to rape you all.got to love non electric aircraft.
