Surely there are fellow Transformer geeks out there. I grew up with Transformers. When the first movie came out, I was a bit apprehensive - they could either bring to life the Transformers I grew up with or kill the series altogether. I was very impressed with the first movie - yes it's cheesy, but so what isn't these days!?

When I heard of the second movie, I was still a bit apprehensive - "A sequel!? PLEASE don't run this into the ground!" Well, Rachel and I went to the local drive-in theater Saturday night where they were showing Transformers 2 - while the cheese still remains in some parts, I must admit that I am still hooked on this stuff!! I want to see it up-close so I can see the fight scenes a bit clearer, but overall I was pretty impressed with the movie. Of course they left it hanging open for yet another follow-up, but only time will tell..

Is anyone else happy to see their childhood action figures coming to the big-screen with updated graphics!?

Unless they come out with a G.I. Joe or Major Matt Mason movie, which is probably pretty unlikely...

Eventually you hit the old fart demographic and don't matter anymore.

G.I Joe hits theaters soon! It looks a little dumber than that (kickass) Transformers movies, though. It'll either be really awesome, or really awful...hard to tell.

EDIT: G.I. Joe - The Rise of Cobra comes out 7 Aug.

Megan Fox, all sweaty and running in slo-mo.

What's not to like? :D

Or in incredibly small shorts stretched out on a motorcycle. It was a gratuitous use of her hotness, but I didn't mind.

If you haven't seen this thing....DON'T!

It was the most painful movie I've seen short of Snakes on a Plane. (and THAT one at least didn't try to induce epilepsy.)

Go see "A Night at the Museum II" even if Amelia Earhardt is nothing like the real one, she's fun and cute and you wish you could fly the Wright Flyer over DC, much less land a Lockheed in Manhattan.

A friend of mine claims to have walked out.

He's confined to a wheelchair. At least, until he saw this movie I guess.

After dinner, my friends wanted to hit the movie theatre - we ended up at Transformers 2. I was underwhelmed. But then, once upon a time I did computer graphics for a living. The most surprising aspect of the film: Altho ILM is primary CG on this film (and Star Trek) Digital Domain is also involved (and on Star Trek).

IMHO the transformer battle sequences went on too long. And it was difficult to tell the difference between the Good Guy Ts and the Bad Guy Ts.

But John Turturro was great.

It didn't totally suck, unlike the first one. Shia Laboof (however you spell his especially stupid stage name) proved he could talk faster than he could walk, run, drive, or think for that matter. Some of the CG looked fake, but most of it looked pretty good, and it was fun to watch giant robots beat on each other.

Shia LaBeouf which family name means "The Beef" is the "stage name" his father's family had. The only stage part is "Shia." He says his parents were and are hippies.

The problem he had is drinking. He got arrested at the Walgreens on Michigan Avenue and keep vowing to not fall into self-destruction. Even Harrison Ford warned him he can have a great career if he stops it.

I watched the cartoons when I was a kid. Saw the first live-action movie with a friend. When she returns to town we'll go see the second one. I'm stoked. Even if it's cheesy I don't think I'll care.

I got a invite from a business vendor for a free screening at the second showing. I treated my younger-of-the generation neighbor and his sorta-step-son. They loved it.

Being that my apprehension was wise, THEY decided we should sit in the last row. It didn't help much. Roger Ebert, BTW, was offering $100 cash to anyone who could stand watching from the 1st row.

I never felt so old in my life.

The Megan Fox CGI 2.0 for this movie is really interesting. Did you see how they did it this time?

Great little short on the development of Megan Fox LINK

Fun movie, but the script turned really silly after they reactivated Jetfire.

U sure? What about the language? I mean do the AutoBots really need to call their foes B's while they slay them? Having watched the cartoon that just seemed a bit forced.

I have about 200 some TCI-WA 60 120v-12v 60 watt electronic transformers for sale....

wait... wait... the script turned silly AFTER they reactivated Jetfire??? You think it waited until then to turn silly????

The movie was tedious and hard to follow, without any reason to put the effort out to even try...
