For someone who doesn't even know the correct terminology, you're chock-full of legal advice. The point you're missing is that if you don't know the FAA ramifications of the various possible outcomes with the NY legal sitation, you stand a very good chance of agreeing to something with NY that will hang you with the FAA.

Second , ( Let me apologize for not knowing who is who around here ) , two posters , Arnold and Bruce C . gave good advise . Settle the issue first because the FAA may not even care . You and your Parrot Tim seem to think that the OP should do this backwards , go to the FAA first and report something he/she probably wont have to . In legal parlance that is whats known as stupid .
