Hi all.

I am heading Florida in December/January to build up about 50h-60h in a c-152.

I checked out several schools, and finally I decided to go to Florida Flyers, lot of people talk good about them, and they have good rates.

Is someone thinking about it?

If you are thinking about to do a time building, please let me know, I am looking for a pilot to fly, and share costs with.

best Regards.

Ask the flight school ,they may have a pilot looking to do the same.

What do you mean with Bo Eman1200? sorry about my ignorance...

Bo = Bonanza, but I was mostly joking.

No one wants to build up hours in Florida?

I can not believe it!!

Come on guys! Contact me and lets fly across USA!!

I thought there were more pilots in Florida than any other state, including Alaska, all looking for a flying job...

Too late did a flight from Ma to Ak this summer, also just moved the plane from Ma to Fl last month. Have plenty of hours.

Florida Flyers is ok. I've rented there for a very short time when I was in the pre-purchase phase of aircraft ownership.
The only problem I had with them is that you can only do 2 hour blocks...... That did not work at all for me as I travel. but if you're ok with it - it's a good school...

Not many there speak english... so you may feel a little... weird... :)

I did 11.2 hrs Minneapolis (KFCM) to Naples (KAPF) on Monday in a Jabiru Light Sport. Does that count?

Bet it was a great flight, have a couple of hours in the jabiru, liked the airplane. Still flying IFR so I need a certified airplane. Like the jabiru and the ct line for cross country flying.

That's true, but none of them have any money.

Real truth is less than 10 percent of time builder inquiries result in actual time building. Aspiring pilots are fishing for free time, $50 multi time, $20 single engine time, and other things that don't actually exist.

The recently installed TruTrak autopilot made it a piece of cake. Coupled to the GRT, I only had to touch the controls for the two pit stops. It flew the rest.

Emini Trader, really they do not speak english?

I have texted them several times, and they are supposed to speak english.

I am from Spain, and I want a school in wich I can speak english, there is no sense to speak spanish... hahaha

What do you mean with those 2 flight hours per day?

I wrote them, and they told me I can fly everywhere (even if I take the plane more than 2h), even by night if I have night qualification...

Thank you

He means for the scheduling, you have to get someone there to make the plane available for more than 2hrs i.e. you personally can only book a 2hr flight without their help / override

I'm curious what you mean by night qualification? In the US night qualification is only to take passengers, anyone with a valid PPL without a DAY VFR limitation can fly at night. I think in Europe you need an instrument rating to fly at night, correct?

How much are they charging you for time-building?

Also, don't you have a JAA license? How does that work in the US for local flights, I'm not sure you can fly an airplane without another person with a valid FAA license (and then you wouldn't be PIC)? or you have to get a license from the FAA?

just make sure you build quality time and not just loitering in the practice area. Splitting cost doesn't really makes sense as you are paying just for the time you are flying. Yes there's the pic safety pilot, but the question begs "are you really getting flying experience by being a safety pilot?". IMHO if you are not manipulating the controls and doing the real-time decision making they are not quality hours. to each his own i guess.

off topic, but in some countries such as Mexico NIGHT VFR is prohibited. Regardless, if you are top gun, cfii goldseal, astronaut, etc.I am guessing its the same in europe.

I'm not sure he can act as a safety pilot since he is not appropriately rated, I'm not certain on this clearly, but it is an interesting concept - more research necessary

I disagree. Based on that theory airline crews should be splitting their logged time. Observing the "big picture" of instrument procedures as a safety pilot while carrying out the see-and-avoid duties can be valuable.

If someone wants to go either before or after December, please let me know, I can change my dates.

They would only give me a 2 hour block. If i wanted 4 hours i had to do 2 seperate time blocks. It may be different now. But the archer i was flying 699dw was very busy.

Probably should not mentioned the english thing. I personally had a hard time understanding alot of what was being said.

Many years ago I spent a summer fish spotting in a C150 out of Marathon on the Florida Keys. Probably illegal but I recall I built about 500 hours that summer. I didn't get paid but I didn't pay anything either. Every now and again I had to fly from the right seat and take a tourist with me who wanted to see the sights and get an N reg plane in the logbook.
Those were the days!!!
Stephen.
