It was on the news here this morning. No details yet except crashed on take-off.

Three dead, R.I.P.

I worked down there for a few months, Albany has a nice airport, plenty of runway legth, ample open areas for emergencies when taking off to the south, etc., it'll be interesting to find out more about this one.

Local report with not much info.

Yep, very sad. My wife called me in hysterics last night. The pilot was a very close friend.
 
Like all of these, a tragic loss. But he was a close friend of the wife's. I'd only met him a couple of times and didn't know him well.
 
Been there a hundred times. I'll just wait until the report comes out.
 
Update @ Albany News says a Lancair 4, one of the deceased was a State Trooper helo pilot.
