Shot a couple approaches in the one-sketchy-two this afternoon between waves of thunderstorms. In the process of doing so I made the run over to my favorite fuel stop for some blue stuff. I had quite forgotten about the robin's nest I posted pictures of a few weeks ago until I went to grab the ladder and saw this sad sight:
Probably got blown out of the nest by the 50mph winds we had yesterday, but they were still alive. Being the big softie I am, I helped them out since mama robin was still hanging around trying to protect them:
As I looked around to make sure there were no small children or puppies near my prop before starting the engine, I noticed midwest aero had pulled the BF-109 out of the hangar. I REALLY wished I had time to stay (I assume they were going to run it), but I needed to get home before the next round of storms. I think we need to name one of the robins "Willie". Willie & Clyde maybe. They're probably both girls.
Also cleaned up my hangar in preparation of it housing an airplane again for the first time in 3 1/2 months. It was nice wasting a whole day on airplane stuff.
