The return of Steingar

Welcome back! Does this mean you're flying again (I hope!)?

What did you do to get banned ?

Welcome back Michael! Great to see you! :)

Then, what country were you a pilot of, in the interim?
Anyway, welcome back to being a P of A!

Welcome back!

Never heard of you, but it's cool your airplane is repaired; and getting banned by these mods should get you a free beer, or something . . .

I was never elsewhere, but with my airplane in the shop with a self-induced malady I really didn't feel like being around. I was an American, but not a pilot. Pilots fly airplanes. Thank you so much for the well-wishes.

It would be kind of cool to see pics and hear about the repairs if it's not too traumatic.

It's okay. We've all been there no matter how much James, Makg, R&W, Tom, etc. deny it.

Mooneys are notorious for prop strikes and overruns on short strips. I managed the former. I'm going to be doing a considerable amount of dual instruction. I intuitively understood the energy of my Cherokee, and new what it was going to do and when. It is obvious to me that 1) I do not have this sort of grip on the Mooney and that 2) I need to do so. I am not the pilot I thought I was, and not the pilot I need to be.

You go up tonight by chance? Enjoyed a nice sunset flying home from Sportys. I could see Columbus from 60 nms away and Bolton from 30, welcome home.

1. Kudos to you for recognizing this.
2. Thanks to you for sharing it, because you are helping others learn.

Not many of us are. Most just don't recognize it.

Agreed. There's always more to learn. We all just hope we don't learn the hard expensive way. Sorry you had it happen, but glad you're back.

Plus, we need more vegan recipes for things that actually sound tasty enough to make/eat! Most of that stuff sounds and looks awful, but you make stuff anyone would eat. :)

Welcome back! Hope to see you soon so our Mooneys can meet... :):D

I'm glad to see you back. Have you found a good instructor with Mooney experience?

Welcome back. Please make sure that the instructor you select really understands Mooneys. If he or she doesn't start out discussing airspeed control and speeds below 80 on final, run away. My Mooney checkout instructor wanted 90 on final, idiot. 1.3Vs works well. I flew with a Bonanza pilot once, and when I turned final I pulled power to idle (252); he couldn't believe it, said a Bonanza wouldn't make the runway from where I was with no power.
