I was surprised as I was googling my old town of Sherman, N.Y. to see if they would show a road up to the old Bement place and the Bement Road. Low and behold there was a picture of the old barn. Now this barn is really something. Made around 1900 and still standing straight and true. Made with wooden dowels to hold it together. My grandfather William Bement had it built. It held all of their cows and horses all winter long. The hay went up in the hay mow along with the grain. It had individual watering devices in each stanchion.and box stall. It had two large silos on one end ( there are gone now). You could drive a team and wagon into the second story to unload the hay. It was on a side hill so the upper side made it easy to drive in. If someone can help me make it easier to look at it I would appreciate it. Look here: Barn In Chautauqua ID # 12200780
