Empty traps I hope or else it is a very stinky New Year's!

The empty traps are provided annually by Brooks Lobster Trap Factory from nearby Thomaston.

New, I hope. A well used but empty trap will stink about as bad as a full one as it dries out.
This from experience! I used to have a short string of traps in Massachusetts. At the time I held a non-commercial lobster license.

Yeah; new stock from the builder's inventory. Lawrence Brooks -- no longer active in the former Brooks Brothers Saw Mill, now Brooks Lobster Trap Factory -- is married to my cousin, Kay (Crute) Brooks. In the photo(s) below, Kay and Lawrence's house is the ranch house near the duck pond. I grew up in the red farm house; and Kay grew up in the house diagonally across from the ranch house. Photos date to April 29, 2001; hence not much green grass at that time.
