Yeah, I'm pretty sure all those big movie theater chains cancelled it so Sony could make more money on an online release.

The movie chains declined to screen The Interview for the EXACT same reason every single major media outlet in America declined to show/print the controversial Danish Comic Strips. They are a bunch of pansies.

Maybe there are old theaters, and there are bold theaters, but there are no old, bold theaters?

From some of the interviews I've read lately, seems many of the theaters didn't have a issue showing the movie at all.

I just watched it. It was awful. I really like Seth Rogen and James Franco in movies but this one was garbage

I keep wondering which person at what poker game said, "I'll wager $5000 I can get half the world to watch that piece of crap movie you made!", and shook on it.

Are you kidding me...brand new release at 4.99 at my home??

Wish they were all like this.

I don't do big screen stuff much unless it's a REALLY good movie....and those are few n far between.

The money I save on admission, popcorn and a soda.....4.99 is almost like they they are paying me to watch!!!;)

I will be watching based on my personal minimums:lol:....If I can send a FU to North Korea for 4.99 with free shipping....i give it a thumbs up. And im not expecting it to be anything more than your over the top horrible comedy.

Your mins and mine seem identical...

I'm sure N Korea really gives a crap if you watched it or not.

I'm not sure how anyone can link this to patriotism :dunno:

I saw it last night, mildly entertaining but stupid.... it would have been in the theaters about a week before being relegated to Netflix.

Watched it via an ...online internet source... I didn't think it was any worse than pretty much any other comedy that comes out these days.

I'd probably watch it if I had some time to kill, but I wouldn't pay money to see it. This hype appears to have had the unintended consequence of bolstering a mediocre movie's revenue.

Assuming it was unintended, of course.

Seriously doubt it. It's not worse than any of the other junk movies they release constantly.

I can't see it either. Kind of a cheesy armchair, self proclaimed patriotism I guess.

Eventually we will watch it. We watch a lot of stupid movies. If we didn't, we wouldn't watch much.

Tommy and I watched it, streamed (the Alamo Drafthouse was sold-out!).

It was... mildly entertaining. No better.

My view: the whole DRPK hissy-fit probably multiplied the film's viewership and revenue five fold.

The family watched the movie last night. We streamed it off a computer into the TV. I liked the movie for what it was.

Watched it. If you like Rogen/Franco you will love it. Laughed our arses off.

it is playing currently at a theater in my hometown. apparently indy places are immune to communism......who would have thought?
