Sony's The Interview will become available today on a variety of online platforms including YouTube Movies, Google Play, Microsoft's Xbox Video and Sony's own dedicated website www.seetheinterview.com, the studio announced. The movie, which will go online at 10 a.m. Pacific Time can be rented for $5.99 and purchased in HD for $14.99.

Will you see it?

I wouldn't have seen it regardless, sounds like a stupid movie to begin with.

Ding ding ding. I'm with Henning on this one. Didn't know about the dumb movie before nation-states started waving their pricks around over it, and don't intend to ever see it, unless I'm insanely bored and it's available for "free" on Netflix someday... even then... better stuff available to watch.

Agreed. I saw the trailer for it and it looks pretty stupid. I have heard from people that have seen it, that it is stupid and lousy movie. I won't be seeing it.

Not a Seth Rogan fan at all. I've never seen anything he was in that I have liked.

I can't wait to go see it.
I go to about one movie a year and I haven't been to one yet and I'm running out of year.

The whole point of this is that by North Korea doing what they did to try and stop the release they insured The Interview will be the most watched movie ever. That's funny. Too bad it cost Sony so much money...

So, with that in mind I will now watch this movie even though I guarantee I wouldn't have otherwise. It's me doing my part for free speech. I will gladly sacrifice an hour and a half of my life to stick it to NK. They deserve it...any bully does.

How does giving Sony money "stick it to NK"? LOL...

Wouldn't have watched it even without all this felgercarb.

Agree. If Rotten Tomatoes ends up giving it an 75+, i'll add it to my Netflix queue. Otherwise, just another stupid movie.

I thought it looked stupid before all the drama. However if Sony did something like donate profits from it to war refugees or wounded warriors or something then yes.

With all the hype, probably is a stupid movie,Sony needed a way out. Would be worth seeing on net flix.

Yup, and I won't go see it in order to make some kind of political point one way or the other either.

I applaud Sony for releasing it. Just that act has made the point (it is publicly available). It really doesn't matter who goes to see it. There is an audience for Seth Rogan movies, but I am guessing most of those people aren't pilots. Maybe they will be in a few years, though.

I saw the previews to it ... just didn't look that interesting. All the North Korea saber rattling doesn't make it any more so.

Pretty obvious. They went to great lengths and took a lot of risk to try to stop it (assuming our government is telling us the truth), so by going to see it, the DPRK gets their nose rubbed in their failure. What could go wrong? It's not like they have nukes or anything.
uh,
never mind.
But still, are we going to cower because NK has a few firecrackers?
Answer: Probably.

Into the Woods
Imitation Game
Hobbit #5

Guardians of the Galaxy if there's a $2 theatre nearby

any will be better than Interview

Might be the first step in putting theaters out of business.

Looked like a dumb movie from he start.

I swear... if we start yet another war over this.... :goofy:

I had no interest before the brouhaha, but now may spend $6 just to thumb my nose at the idiots targeting it.

You sure you know which idiots did it?

Because...our govt has NEVER deceived to us before to push their own interests

Or that the whole point was to make interest in that crappy movie where there was none?

Funny how this movie just came out

I believe this was caused to raise the viewing of this stupid movie. Myself I have not stepped into a movie theater in over 20 years and doubt I will ever go back to one.

I am told I live under a rock. Well I like it under my rock, thank you.

There is no way Sony is lying about being hacked and there is no way Sony set up the hack to boost this stupid movie. At the end of the day Sony is still out millions and this is a serious blow to their business. It's not just the monetary aspect, they have legal issues too. There will be lawsuits over this hack as they have a poor security track record to begin with and now personal information of rich people has been leaked.

Again, there is no way on earth this is a publicity stunt.

I doubt I would have seen it at the theater, we usually go to one or two movies per year and my wife usually picks them and drags me. This doesn't seem like one she'd be thrilled about. That being said, I'd watch it if it was free, but I don't see myself downloading it tomorrow for $6.00.:dunno:
It's definitely not a publicity stunt by Sony, not with the leaked emails of their top brass making disparaging remarks about Obama and their top actors!:nono:

When you're right, your are right. And this time you are right.

I think we should militarily eliminate North Korea's command and control structure, and their military and then turn the country over to South Korea.

I think Sony knew they had a flop and to try and salvage a profit they did this to hype it.

It could be on multiple levels. Global politics is nothing but an extension of the entertainment industry.

I was really looking forward to seeing it on the big screen, just as a political statement. Oh well.... I like unpretentious Seth Rogan movies.

Maybe I'll download it via torrent and give everyone a big F you

That was probably Holmes, really.

And morons with cell phones.

And sticky floors.

And idiots that won't shut up.

And the fact that one can buy flat screens larger than 60" now for $1000 and falling...

And download anything.

There's barely any movies we bother to see in a theatre anymore. It's more hassle than it's worth.

The only fun part of that experience anymore for me, is firmly but loudly enough to be heard a couple of rows away saying, "rental!" when any awful pre-main-attraction preview ends.

Right during the quiet spot. Always gets a few chuckles.

If the theatre would allow MST3K type commentary throughout, now THAT might be fun. Well, for me anyway. :)

"We've secretly replaced your planet with Folger's crystals!"

:) :) :)

If there were to be an MST3K version, I would totally go!!.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure all those big movie theater chains cancelled it so Sony could make more money on an online release.
