Everything Offends Me
So today, I was planning my flight to Sedona on Saturday, when I realized that the Phoenix sectional I have is outdated. I was at school, on the west side of Albuquerque when I noticed, so I figured I'd run down to the airport to buy the new sectional.

"Since they're being updated in 2 weeks, we stopped ordering them. We're out!" said one FBO.

I walked across the ramp to the other FBO. Same story. This is ridiculous. I won't have time to hit the pilot shop on the other side of town before Saturday, so I need one now.

So I went to the FBO and decided to rent a plane to fly to KABQ's Cutter Aviation to buy one. (I can't fly my own since I still haven't been checked out yet). No prob - fun flight!

Later on, I thought about it. I've heard of the hundred dollar hamburger. This might be the first time I've heard of the hundred dollar sectional!

What's wrong with the sectional you have now?

(Your answer here.)

A new AF/D would solve that problem.

Perhaps - but my sectional was from October of 2003. I'm sure (assuming that I'd even correct a sectional) that I'd need all of the AFDs from then.

I'm missing something here, for sure....
What happens in California stays in California. ;)

I would still like to know what happened in Mexico.

It really is best not to elaborate any further on that topic :)
What was that thing Richard said we couldnt talk about last time we were all in CA? I seem to remember him saying that phrase too.

You mean the chart symbol which three rated pilots could not agree on? Or you mean the opposing traffic you, Mr. Yeager eyes, 'saw' 20 miles out against the CA brown hills? Hey, I'm still in CA and it's still happening.

Woulda been cheaper to have [fill in your favorite mail order shop] ship one to you fedex.

Nick,

I've done something similar - Summer of '03 I rented a 172 at Wisconsin Aviation - RYV to take a couple of kids up over there. Rented headsets for them. When I got back their computers were down so I calculated what the plane should cost and wrote them a check, forgetting about the headsets. A month later I got a bill for $3 and change for the headset rentals, and I rented a plane from Wisconsin Aviation - MSN and flew it to RYV to pay the $3. I think they made out pretty well on that one!
