Yay!!! Maybe I'll see the monkey again at oshkosh.
Always good to see you and your wife.
I forgot you were going to RYY, not back to LZU. Looked like that cell should have been south of there by the time you got there. I had clear skies but plenty of bumps on my way home.
Ladies and Gentlemen of The Great Monkey Race...............Chapter 1 has officially come to an end with a great meet up at The Runway Cafe at KGMU. I've always wanted to whip my monkey out in public and today I had the opportunity to do just that. Of course, my monkey is, well, pretty darn small so no one really noticed. I flew my friend Leann out to the Cafe and got to meet Dave T and Mr. and Mrs. EppyGA, not only fellow PoAers but also honorary participants in The Great Monkey Race. A fun time was had by all, and it was an appropriate close to Chapter 1 of TGMR. I have some tee shirts to get out, which will take a couple of weeks, and I also have 2 ideas for more Monkey Madness. I will issue the challenges in the near future. For now, Dave Theisen is bringing the monkey to OSHKOSH, which seemed to be what the majority of people in this thread wanted to see. I hope everyone views the (first portion of) the event a success, as the mission was to get pilots out, meeting other pilots, and I think we did that. We also did lots of hookers and blow, but I think that would have happened with or without the monkey. Thanks to all involved or anyone who was pulling for a successful Monkey Race!!! CHEERS!!!!!!!

Woot, woot. That just proves that a bunch of crazy pilots can move an object across the country in less than a year. What a feat!
Fantastic.
Is the monkey heading to Oshkosh now?
He could have walked there faster. Even with his short legs...Woot, woot. That just proves that a bunch of crazy pilots can move an object across the country in less than a year. What a feat!

I seem to remember that I was in California when he was at KAPA... or I would have. You could'a given him a ride in the jet... Sheesh!
Yeah, I would have loved to have flown a leg or two but my plane was sans engine at the time.

I'm not a fan of slideshow "videos" and also not a big fan of long azz videos, so here's my long azz slideshow video of pics from TGMR. they didn't all make it in but most did.

feedback welcome, unless it's "waaahhh, I don't like music in videos waaahhh"
Just for the record...I volunteered to go along with Dave, long before there was any Monkey business involved. Now that I have time off work I'm not backing out.yes, dave t is bringing him along with an unsuspecting "holy-sht-what-did-I-get-myself-into" chemguy. also starting to recruit the next victim, er, I mean willing participant.
I have that same poster in my garage.

The Monkey is with me, in Colorado. Luxuriating after an exhausting tour of Oshkosh and arriving home at 2:30am this morning. I'm promoting the idea of "The Monkey must visit all 50 states via General Aviation!" and will have more posts soon - probably a new thread. With pictures!
