A load line at a decommissioned munitions assembly facility is commonly burned to eliminate any unexploded ordinance/components such as waste propellant/primers that contaminate the area prior to turning it over for some other agency use. A hazard could exist from UXO. So says a friend who was in the USAF -ordinance disposal.
