DNC convention. The VP will be there for sure. Biden is scheduled to make a presentation, too, on Monday.
 
Oops, sorry. I had been looking at the mess of TFR circles around Chicago earlier today - and didn't notice they were not the same. Don't know what's happening in Cali.

30-nm radius TFRs are normally reserved for the President. Since his Chicago presentation is on Monday and the California TFRs start on Tuesday, that leaves enough time for him to get to the Santa Barbara area. This report suggests it might be a vacation.

The locals are getting ready for their VIP visitor.

The Bidens’ destination remains uncertain, but billionaire Joe Kiani, a big political donor, owns a Santa Ynez Valley ranch. Biden’s son Hunter reportedly visited the ranch in March 2023.

While it’s not clear if it’s related to the VIP visit, one local business, The Pretentious Boar and Ale House, made an announcement on social media about a private event.

“We will be closed next week Tuesday-Saturday for a private event. Sorry for the inconvenience,” the announcement said.
