...to test my Approach Lighting System tutorial on various devices. I think it looks best on my PC when all the tool bars are removed with the player left in the 'unexpanded' mode. I'd like some feedback on any problems viewing on other devices like an iPad.
There are a number of animations near the end that all seem to have converted to Flash properly for the PC, but I'm interested in any glitches found with other devices.

Thanks, folks. :)

No joy on my iPad1.

It works fine on my MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.8. Looks good too!

Tried the first few slides on my iPad2 and it seems to work there too.

Hmmm... that's not supposed to happen unless you're trying to STEAL it! I bet there's a bug in that Russian software I bought. Well, until I get that fixed, I unlocked it for everybody. Maybe the Russians don't trust iPads? :dunno:

Thanks, that's the sort of thing I was screening for.

Worked great on my Macbook Pro with Google Chrome.

Worked well on Safari. Looks nice too.

Cool, more than I ever needed to know about approach light systems. Only one comment, I'd be careful about using the words "first" and "last" with these things. Your first slide on ASLF-1 says "It differs from ALSF-2 only in the first 1000 feet" where you are referring to the first 1000 feet measured FROM the threshold. In the next slide you talk about the last bar meaning the one furthest from the pilot's point of view (closest to the threshold).

Worked fine now and very well done. I do like the idea if you can see anything, paint, lights, pavement, etc., "come on down"

Cheers

I agree. As with a lot of things: GPS principles, magnus effect and Coriolis force, for some examples, not knowing all about them hardly can hurt you. Being exposed to the ideas, though, can sure make understanding related things easier. That's my rationale for covering most aviation topics during training that others will whine about, like, "I don't need to do chandelles as a commercial pilot, so why on the flight test to become a commercial pilot?" We do a lot of things in training, I think, for reasons other than practical application--and I'm good with it.

Very good catch! Originally, I referenced from the threshold. Then I remembered my Dutch copilot who insisted Americans should refer to the "beginning of the runway" when they always like to say "the end of the runway". In deference to him I went back and changed things to the pilot's perspective. Missed that one. I'll fix.

Thank you for the feedback. Note sent to Russia with love. That's the third bug I've reported since the thread started. If this keeps up, they're gonna need more help. :)
