Tesla can't sell cars directly in NJ...

That's about right, the few exceptions I know of in the Ford business do a huge parts and service business compared to sales and they approach 5%. They are my heroes! :yes: ;)

It is easy to just squawk, "politics," but that is not the genesis of auto dealer laws. It is actually a consumer-protection measure.

There is nothing at all that precludesTesla from establishing dealers in Texas.
Except Texans like real cars ;)

Many of the most powerful machines on the planet are electrically driven.

How many of those carry their own supply of electricity, vs. being connected to the generating station by a wire?
