Teaching Complex Aircraft Pattern Work

As a further precaution, leave the landing gear extended in go-around procedures or traffic patterns for touch-and-go landings.

Thanks. It is interesting to note this advice is not based on maintenance concerns. I don't normally do touch-and-goes in complex aircraft so retracting and extending each time wouldn't be contrary to that note.

Yeah, if I'm doing touch and goes, it's in a rental 172 for a BFR. I don't do them in my own plane. No need to, I get plenty of landings normally.

I own a Comanche . . . .whats a pattern again? I'd rather go 35 miles, have lunch, land, come back and land.

"Positive rate, gear up." "Three green (or whatever)" at least twice when on final. I'm trying to teach procedures, not protect the gear extension system.

Agree with Bob. Hammer in those procedures!
