Taxi at 7 knots ground speed? We are all going to die...!!!!!

As long as they're maintaining a safe distance from any buildings/aircraft/people and have it under control I don't really care. I don't really want to wait for someone to taxi a mile at walking speed though.

I don't really know how fast I taxi in kts... it barely registers on the airspeed indicator. Maybe running speed or a hair faster?

No body has mentioned using common sense according to each situation. Would have made this conversation much shorter.

Never taxi faster than a man can walk? What is this 1920?

I like #10.

Umm... well, it all depends, if you're a transient, then I don't suppose you have any reason to care. I was based there.

Then talk to him face to face. Even as a transient,if I knew he was in the FBO, I'd have a polite word with the Taxiway Nazi.

I was on a commercial ride last week and after a left turn out on the taxiway at LAX, we taxied at what I'd estimate was 35 miles an hour. We were passing the luggage tugs!

My manual allows me to taxi up to 30 knots - that's pretty close to 35mph. :)

That said I usually keep it down below 25 knots or so on the long straightaways.

Don't try the fast taxi at Taylor T74 to 16. It's got some nice woops in it

It's not one "Taxiway Nazi". It's airport rules, probably set by the Airport Manager (a county employee who is virtually never at that field), and the guys who work the office are simply responsible to see they're obeyed.

This rule isn't totally arbitrary. The taxiway is narrow and high speeds mean less time to correct before hitting something, if you're momentarily distracted and swerve. I suspect they may have had incidents caused by LOC during fast taxi ops and the rule was a reaction to that.

Rumor has it that Southwest pilots are taught to taxi with full down elevator to keep the aircraft from rotating.

Ooh ooh. New revenue stream... Airport Authorities with radar guns!

(And an idea for @SixPapaCharlie 's next video... Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you!) LOL

My instructor taught me to never taxi faster than a cow can run.

I think we all can agree that we should taxi at safe speeds but not like old ladies because it is not pleasant to sit in a 150-degree airplane on a 110-degree day on a 160-degree taxiway. (at least down here in the south)

Those who claim that taxi must be slow and that there is no rush, try that in front of a 747 whose nose tires are rubbing on your elevator. I think the ground frequency guy will ask you to "expedite". :)

I see lots of people taxing like the Hobbs is gonna roll over. I've actually seen a guy rev it up to gain speed and then cut engine and coast to the tie down. He said the Hobbs was gonna roll over

I always just taxi at a speed that suits the place I am at.... IE: a small narrow taxiway would be slower, congestion would be slower etc. As I was on the taxiway heading back to my hanagr last night I glanced down at the 430 and it said 12.5kts. Felt right ;)
