Henning is right on this one I believe.
I do have the high horse power, the tailwheel, and the complex.
And I had them prior to becoming an old geeser
Yeah, but .................I'd say that if you haven't been able to express your feelings to a point that you feel satisfied with on this subject by now you're not ever gonna.
I don't have a T/W, high performance or complex endorsements. I do have over 2000hrs T/W and a lot of that in high performance complex T/W airplanes. Don

Do a lot of float flying?
Being able to land a tail wheel or on water doesn't make one a 'better pilot'...
How about...
Being able to land a tail wheel or on water makes one a 'a more versatile pilot'?
Almost, helicopter and glider, that is the only way to be a good airplane pilot. Sheesh people talking about little things, where the third wheel is, pffft, true pilot mastery and awesomeness comes from mastering several categories.Pssshhh.... everyone knows the only way to become a better pilot is to get certificated in Rotorcraft - Helicopter :wink2:
Just ask, and I'll tell ya how much better a pilot I am

But...Have you flown a taildragger helicopter?Pssshhh.... everyone knows the only way to become a better pilot is to get certificated in Rotorcraft - Helicopter :wink2:

If helos are so great, why aren't there more vintage helicopter fly-ins?

(actually I was invited to fly the S-55 and S-58 this summer doing cherry drying but it just doesn't pay enough...)
If you autorotate into the orchard, is that a pit stop?
Well, hopefully it makes them better tailwheel pilots at least. You should have. the FAA thinks they must to get an endorsement, If the requirement is more training to fly the conventional gear, it must make them better pilots.
And You called me a geeser ?No, I did all that stuff before the FAA required endorsements so was grandfathered in. Don
And You called me a geeser ?
Why is it so important to kill the thread. If the thread irritates anyone, I would suggest that they simply no longer open it.
better glider pilotWelll.... dddduuuuuhhhh flying an airplane with a car engine definitely makes you a better pilot !

Only if it's one that requires in flight valve lash adjustment.

But it's like a nasty, disgusting, vomit-inducing accident,..and yet..I can't look away.
All right I'll club this walrus of a thread. If Obama was a pilot would he fly a tailwheel airplane?
You must have been one of the small number who watched the State of the Union address, too.
