Summer "haze line"

What is the name of the "haze layer" seen when flying on summer days? It is always at the bottom of cumulus clouds, and is where you go from bumpy to smooth air. It rises as the air heats up. I've seen it forever, but don't know what it is actually called.

Is anyone familiar with a website that covers weather basics like this?
