Hey all. Planning on taking my wife to Laughlin for her birthday. Bringing along two friends. Looks like the airport is right across the street water from all the action. Flying from Glendale AZ (KGEU), just for a day trip. Wouldn't mind hitting the beach or renting jet skis..something along those lines. Any suggestions? Has anyone been out there in late June? How's the water temp :dunno: Any tour suggestions? Thanks guys.

Back in the day you could land at Bullhead City, taxi down the hill on the west side to the FBO, tie down and walk across the street to a water taxi across the river. They closed that taxiway and there is a Home Depot and Walmart there now.

Now you'll need a cab or casino shuttle to pick you up. Call ahead to the FBO and see what they recommend. If you are staying the night, there may be casino shuttles.

We always enjoy sitting on the outdoor patio of Joe's Crab Shack, right on the River, and drink a few beers and eat seafood. It's about at the Golden Nugget. They've changed it to Bubba Gump Shrimp now... but still the same. Take a ride on the water taxi from end-to-end, or even the river tour. The water is pretty cold, but it doesn't seem to stop the jet ski/boat crowd.

You can stay pretty low of you fly to Wickenburg, then Alamo Lake, then West over Lake Havasu and up the River to Laughlin. Fly early to avoid a bumpy ride. Winds can be ferocious there, but they are usually right down the runway. Taxi ride from the "private" terminal was less than $10.

Like most casinos, sign up for the Players card to get free play credit and needed for good food deals (buffet etc).

Just call the FBO on their unicom frequency about 10-15 minutes before you land and tell them you want to gamble at the Riverside Casino. They will call the casino for a free shuttle for you. Once you're at the casino, you can walk the riverwalk or take the river taxi to whichever casino you choose. When you're done, go back to Riverside's valet desk and ask for the airport shuttle. They will take you back to the FBO for free (+tip, of course).

Oh! Nice! That's what I'll do, call for the Shuttle. Get a players card. Thanks for the great ideas guys! I may frequent this place more often than I originally thought. I'll check hotel prices tomorrow. Anyone have any comments on a good hotel?
