A friend built me a nice Stratux unit which I used once or twice but recently intalled the Appareo ESGi so I don't need it. We put this together few months ago. The unit has the GPS module and everything in a neat little box along with a nice battery that lasts and long time. Very small and I just stick the antenna to the rear window on the Cessna and it works just fine.

Raspberry Pi 2 or 3? Single-band or dual-band? Stock (eg: came with the SDR's) or upgraded antennas? Any chance of a picture or two?

I only used it twice and I didn't build it for sure. It has a WAAS GPS and works well with Foreflight. I received Traffic and Weather at a fraction of the cost of the Big $$ units. A Tech friend built and assembled it for me and set it up. Just a little antenna on a suction cup with a magnet that I stick to the rear window. Very small unit and works great !! I now have ADS-B installed in the Aerobat so I don't need it this unit.
