I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that blue and yellow are not good.

Green good. Others bad. All you need to know about troubleshooting servers and storage arrays. :(

("end_request: critical target error, dev sdc, sector 0" on the Linux console is also bad juju.) ;)

HP Array. MTBF on this controller - Six months. Even better it didn't stay operational with the redundant controller. (Note theres only one drive cable in use and it's plugged into the GOOD controller. This array should not be down.)

Pure unadulterated modern HP firmware quality here today, boy howdy. Ha.

In my shop, HP stands for Has Problems. I feel your pain.

I see "outrage" every time this thread pops up. Maybe for good reason.

For $10K or more a pop, you'd think the stuff would run better.

It's still not working right. We're in workaround mode today, running off of the other one.

It's kinda like wearing pants with no underwear. Hope you don't tear your pants! Haha.

This reminds me of a computer science quote I enjoy.

Repaired layer-1 radical disruption to the layer-2 NIC, which resulted in a failure of any frame to identify the appropriate MAC address of the destination host, while simultaneously disallowing the NIC to perform its usual role of CSMA/CD of the Ethernet protocol.

Translation: A network cable was unplugged.

If you wanted those problems at a better price, just buy a Thecus.... :puke:

That is awesome. I'm going to have to use that one. Reminds me of the Presidential "debate" answers to direct questions!

Nope. It's actually saying the same thing. Presidential debate answers are of the general form: "Great question. Now let me repeat the sound bite I want to get in here, which may or may not be distantly related to the question."

Exactly. I asked a candidate for a local county commissioner position a very specific question and got back generic, non-specific, BS.

Why am I not surprised?

I'm trying to decide if it's worth my time to respond with a polite but caustic comment that they didn't answer the question and hence not worthy of my vote.
