Steveo addressing his FAA problems...

I heard they watched it multiple times to make sure no violations took place.

Rumor is it will be available as a training video on faa.org. Mulligan told me that. Or was it 'Dog?

1. Like it or not, guys like Steveo, Flight Chops, Captain Moonbeam, Mr. Aviation 101 (yes I know everyone hates the kid), etc are attracting more folks to general aviation. The same can be said for Tucker Gott and powered paragliders. Dare I say - you can learn some good things from any one of them

1. Great comment.

2. I don't hate the kid. I actually like his videos, he's one of my favorite YouTube guys.

He seems like a safe and competent pilot from his videos
Of the pilot videos out there steveo does seem like the most competent..

Frankly, the average person I watch do a 3 second preflight that involves wiggling just one aileron and then getting in and going is far more unsafe than this guy

Hey, if the plane is in the hanger it must be ready to go...

"it flew the last time I put it there 6 weeks ago!"

I wonder if people actually KNOW what they're looking for when I see them aimlessly do the one aileron wiggle.. I feel like they're just saying "good, it moves!"

Oh man, you're going to hurt Bryan's feelings now....
I thought about 6PC actually when I wrote that, and it made me think that maybe steveo should just title all his video with "a satire on how to fly your TBM850" - would that have given him a get out of jail card?

I have heard of at least one accident where the pilot took off without removing the control lock. At least he won't be doing THAT. ;)

This all still begs the question, will there be any more videos, considering the 709? I would find the whole messing with your ticket hassle, enough of a deterrent to just turn around and do more videos.

The employer might also not consider the cat's continued employment worth the advertisement, if he catches the eye of the FAA again by insisting on making money by slapping cameras on the work airplanes. Nothing against the guy, but odd duck childless for-hire pilots are a dime a dozen in South Florida. Might be time to figure out what's more important, flying professionally or blogging for pin money on the internet. i don't wish to push forth a false dichotomy, but I think in this case the FAA may have forced his hand on that front.

Worst case he stops filming the Caravan and just films the TBM

He's fighting it, so he's not looking to stop.

Hopefully theres no FAA issue and he's using it as a plow to milk some money from his fans.
