Before I commit to the DUAL I'm trying to find some verification it will work with garmin pilot reasonably well.

If I can find some sort of confirmation I'll take it
 
No problem. For future reference, a DUAL GPS will work with garmin pilot, as I use it very often. For this, I was primarily interested in the weather portion. Whether that works or not would be the deciding factor.
 
I'm certainly no expert. I wish all the apps and GPS units were interoperable.
