Cleared for Takeoff
Flew from Cedar Rapids, CID to Anoka, ANE, in the Apache/Geronimo with another MEI. Did a GPS and hold at Oelwein, a PAR (or whatever they call it these days) at Rochester and an ILS at Anoka. Then each of us jumped in a C172 Sea at Adventure Seaplanes with an instructor and went on a long lake hopping junket complete with dinner at Paradise Landing at Balsam Lake in WI. (Dinner is the noon meal to farmers.) Did a lot of glassy water work and a little bit of everything else. Notched some Wings credit. Had a great time. Was not in it to get really proficient, just have fun and wet the wings again after getting ASES last summer and did that. Will probably do it again sometime. Yes, it cost money, but it was great fun and we worked quite a bit of other training in at the same time. Hmm. They said they did snow skis, too. I've only been on them once.
