Special Issuance Expiration

I was give a SI for sleep apena and moved over to basic med. I was looking over the paperwork this morning and I see that the SI is due to expire 04/30/23.

Am I covered under Basic Med that is do not need the special issuance, or do I need to "re-up" the SI with the FAA?

You're free to let your medical certificate and SI expire.

And by extension, move to basic med when they do expire.
