Speakers on Sound up

My God, that's beautiful music!

Is the Sf making the whistling sound? I don't recall that from a -51.
Excuse me while I clean drool off my computer.
Thanks Tom.

That's what I'll be hearing for 5 days and all day on Sat and Sun.

I'm working the Chino KCNO Planes of Fame Airshow May 14-15th.

Great video, Tom!

I've got 3 General Admission passes to give away. PM if you want them AND will attend either day.

That was shot at RAF Duxford, I lived about 30 or 40 minutes from there and used to visit quite a lot. Great museum and almost always an airshow going on.

More warbird video, just uploaded. Three P-40's, including cockpit shots during the takeoff rolls:

Oh boy o boy, I wanna fly a P-51 in knife edge.

-where do I gotta go to do it?
-can I afford it? :(

so its the engine. I figured it was the airframe. Either way its also cool.

i have it on good authority that the whistling is from the P-51's belly cooler rear door closing down as the airplane dives (trying to maintain a stable temp)

others have argued they don't hear it at reno, but at that venue the engines are running at high power, generating more heat which causes the door to stay near full open, or on some planes the belly scoop is either highly modified to remove the door or the belly scoop is eliminated altogether to reduce drag
