The problem with having a southern woman rather than a northern one is you have to stay on top of your beer and ammo, southern woman will always be trying to steal them from you.

Yes it does, and it is neither complimentary nor any type of actual "blessing". Actually it can mean many things.

Bless her heart or bless your heart means different things depending on tone and delivery.
I knew a southern lady once who had a son who referred to his momma as the silk harpoon. Because she could insult you so smoothly you didn't know it till you walked away.
I was raised by a southern lady and well, there are many good aspects of it. Different from the wimmin in that video, trust me.
 
I grew up in a rural area in what most people would call southern IL and 90% of that sounded like normal conversation to me with maybe a little extra southern 'twang'.
