Some good Thunderstorm info

Had my first experience flying around Thunderstorms last week. A flight from Missouri to Chicago was blocked by a wall of thunderstorms. Talked to a briefer before hand which helped determine I should go north to route around them. Then in flight had ADS-B and was able to watch them. All in all was a great learning time, and only tacked on about 25 more mins.

A good briefer,a good plan ADSB,and a sharp controller, you may be able to fly around the line.if not stay on the ground.

I agree, avoid by a safe margin or stay on the ground. That's aviating 101.

Great read. Thumbed through the pages but saved it to read later in detail. With summer in full boil down here (Texas), thunderstorms and cells are a daily occurrence.

1. Don't be a pansy. Tell them what you want.
2. Remember, they have a job because you're flying. Not the other way around. You're in charge of where that airplane goes.
