I had some business to do in Brownsville, and decided to stop at this place on the gulf and stay a night prior to getting to Brownsville at this hotel that offers a "crew car" if you stay there...

Ed Fred. Poster child for shenanigans.

So did I. My first flight to KADS in almost a year (I checked) and Spike was unavailable for lunch. :cryin:

Well I most certainly didn't go to Tejas this week. Am going to WWW (Wonderful Windy Wyoming) next week.

Hope the Frankenkota is out of the plane hospital by then but sorta doubt it...bolt-ons aren't and take entirely too long...

I managed to hit both Tejas and WWW this week although, for once, it wasn't windy up there. It's the GWN (great white north) next week.

Just hope those doctor bills aren't too high...

Holiday Inn Express is usually a safe bet.

Hampton Inns are decent. :ihih:
Trouble maker!! :cheerswine:

I stayed at a Hampton last weekend. They upgraded me to a suite based upon my Hilton Honors points. That is the 3rd out 4 times that they did that and each of the three times I got the very same room. It felt like it is my room. Even the desk people remembered who I was.

I stayed in both a Holiday Inn and and a Hampton this week...

KC friends of 40+ years have a cabin there, and our dinner group gets together there every couple of years. We have as much fun as ever, just go to bed earlier.

What?!?! Are you serious???? That's just down the road apiece! What the heck are you going to do there???

Ah, so you are one of those young pilot punks.....

Ya gotta believe me... I would have enjoyed pulling teeth with rusty pliers more than this day, Mari. I apologize for not being able to break free.

I'm flying to Dallas for Halloween. :)

...figures. I'm flying to Marfa. (grin)

So, we're talking about Farlington Lake? My family used to have a cabin there. We used to go up there and spend the 4th of July weekend at their cabin. My dad used to fish there for years.

How come you aren't flying up? PTS isn't too far from Farlington and you can always steal one of the airport courtesy cars. ;)

If I didn't know better, I'd think everyone was leaving Dallas cuz they heard I was coming. :cryin:

Nope. Going to install a phone system for the new Humane Society facility in Jeff Davis County.

You're a phone installer? You are a man of many talents.

I carried a toolbag for he Bell & Howell Company for several years before becoming a silver-tongued lawyergator. They learned me some sparky tricks.

Long story, but includes some stops, diversions, camping and golf games along the way that make driving a better option.

Little known facts come to light! :) Sounds like a good idea for a new thread topic: What did you do before you do what you do now.

Oh my... It looks I need to be more forthcoming about where I am going. The only problem being that my trips are based on the whim of someone else, or maybe I should say the whims of many other people. That's what business aviation is all about, isn't it? Being flexible.

Hmmm, can you say TWITTER?

I wonder if there's a way to automatically track those PoA folks who want to give out their location information to put together meetups, or if it needs to be done 1 to 1.

I don't have an iAnything either. And I just realized that myTransponder would be a much better alternative than Twitter, since it's geared toward the pilot community.

I actually have a Twitter account but I could never bring myself to use it. Heck I'm still getting used to people being able to track the airplane on Flightaware, not that I'm always one of the people in it.

My daughter's job is to twitter, tweet, and put things on facebook for WHO TV. She is a Multi Media Producer.

I would be interested in introducing your daughter to my daughter and son-in-law. They're still ramping up Exceptional Family TV and looking to network with other folks who've integrated twitter, et al into TV type programming.

PM me with an e-mail address and I will pass it on, She actually just recently started the job with the TV station. Before that she was working for Churchill Downs inc. at their track in New Orleans. I'm sure that she would like to network with them.
