I had one of those in Midway a few years back and it confirmed my opinion that Chicago doesn't know pizza or hot dogs.

Yeah, the pizza is just...well, bad.
The hot dogs? I enjoy them.
Actually it confirms that you know nothing of good eating. Who would ever judge food based on eating it in a commercial airline terminal?I had one of those in Midway a few years back and it confirmed my opinion that Chicago doesn't know pizza or hot dogs.

Sounds like you guys ordered think crust thinking that was Chicago style.Chicago pizza?
Cake with sauce.
Does not matter, every food stand in airports sucks. Everyone knows that. The quality is never as good as the real places. It was a SuperDawg stand -- the same "famous" brand Chicagoans trumpet.
Puh-leeeeeeze

Chicago pizza is deepdish-stuffed, it is a thin crust in a pan loaded with ingredients. Hardly cake at all.

Cake is all about bread, that pie is all about cheese and other yummies. That confirms Dan's comment about "cake". Looks like a cake to me.![]()

Face it -- New York pizza, bagels, hot dogs, and water set the standard, and Chicago remains a second-tier pretender.
sheesh - and you guys have appeared at times to be rational. Goes to show you can't ever tell about someone...This is something in which I am in vehement agreement with Dan on.![]()

Look at that mustard!!!

I've had NY pizza, in a lot of different places. It's not bad, I guess- but Chicago pizza is better. A LOT better.

Water? Really now?
But the pizza and bagels, agreed.![]()
Seriously? That floppy, New York, no-crunch, bready, fold-over grease quicker-picker-upper thing that you ask for "by the slice?"
Chicago thin-crust pizza has a crunchy crust. Chicago pan pizza also has a crunchy crust, at least at the edge. If it's doughy, it hasn't been made correctly.
Now its perfect!

What is that? Blood?

NY and Chicago pizza suck in relative comparison to true 00 flour, coal/wood-fired oven Neapolitan pizza.
The two best slices in the country are in Philly and Williamstown, MA. (Lorenzo's on South Street and Hot Tomatoes on Water Street, respectively)

Oh, come one -- NY pizza "sucks"? That's a bit over the top.

I don't think it's over the top. I know what I like -- just like I do not enjoy uni sushi outside Japan. I find that most places that sell "NY Style Pizza" or "Chicago Style Pizza" are selling some hopped up myth, not good pizza.
Cheers,
