Exactly. I thought I flew with decent coordination. Until I flew a T-Craft.

Or until I flew a glider last month. Talk about adverse yaw!

You can control altitude with power, which is what you're supposed to do in the pattern anyway.

I can't disagree with the taildragger pilots at all. I fly coordinated in the Cherokee, but I doubt it would be very hard to do with my feet flat on the floor. There just isn't that much rudder authority.

There is plenty of rudder authority - there just isn't that much adverse yaw.

I furiously pump the yoke on the takeoff roll.

Y'know that might work if the elevator were big enough and my arms were 'pump' enough.
