OK - check ride coming up. Can't find the MEL for the C 172 Skyhawk N that I'm going to use. Can't seem to find it in the POH.

Something simple I'm missing here, I'm sure.

I've got the required equipment list for VFR in the FAR/AIM. (Flaming Tomatoes). But should there not be a MEL describing what to do if XYZ is broken in the Skyhawk?

Thanks!

Doubt your 172 has a MEL. A Cessna 172 MEL has to be developed from the generic SE MMEL, then submitted to the FSDO for approval.

You should look at the comprehensive equipment list in the POH - weight and balance. That states what equipment the aircraft was required to have for FAA certification. When I did my checkride my DPE was more concerned that I knew about that than Atomatoflames...

Sounds simple. Makes sense that it doesn't have one. But.....how do I know/prove to the DPE that the Skyhawk doesn't have a MEL besides the fact I can't find it?

Thanks!

Ask the owners if they have one.

If XYZ is broken, the airplane is scrap.

Found what you're referencing. That's what I need. Thanks!
