I am thinking of subscribing for my car radio. My free 6months trial ended at the beginning of December. I had been hoping that they would send me an offer to sign up at a discount, but nothing yet. Does anyone know of any special offer to subscribe?

No idea of special offers.

But for me and my listening preferences, it wasn't worth the expense when I had a vehicle that received it. It was cool to have when I first got it, but I found myself listening pretty much to just one channel 98% of the time, and eventually I gravitated back to my favorite News/Talk AM channel. Reception/choice of programming/variety was good, and no complaints there. Just wasn't accessing it enough to make the cost justified.

If I wanted music, I have my iPhone and an FM broadcast accessory.

Paying for the service is very much a YMMV thing. For me, I am not in my vehicle all that much and I'd rather funnel the subscription money into something a bit more productive.

Now if they would offer LiveATC as a particular channel, I would renew.

I got something a week ago, but threw it out. I can't remember waht it was.

Scott, try googling "xm radio discount". It appears there are numerous offers but I didn't validate any of them.

Not aware f any at this point. Check on the XM site or your car manufacturer.

If you already subscribe to XM-WX and have a blue-tooth receiver, I believe the radio add-on is about $7/mo extra. Not sure of the details since I neither need the distraction or have the latest wx box. But is that what you had in mind? It's easy enough to call 'em and ask.

A friend of mine simply called and told them he wasn't sure he wanted to keep his service - They offered an additional 3 months free. Three months later, he called again... Lather, rinse, repeat. I think he's up to about 3 years free now!

That might a possibility except I don't have service now. My 6 mo free expired in December.

Call anyway. I bet they'd give you 3 months free "just to try it out again." In fact, I got a 3-month free offer in the mail after I cancelled my subscription, inviting me to "give it one more try."

Scott, they will do almost anything short of hummin' you to keep you signed up.

Every time I threatened to cxl, they gave me some more months.

I've had XM for several years. Have it in my truck and on my Harley. I don't
even remember the last time I listened to regular radio. They have the $9.95/mo music only option which is what I have.

Recently I signed up for the $29/mo XM weather for the 396 I have in my plane. Very handy.
