Sir Stirling Moss - one lap too many - RIP

LOL did you see Blue Emu drop his sponsorship via Twitter afterward?

“We want drivers, not quitters!”

Hilarious.

Crap. I hadn’t clicked the link. I thought this was about the rage quit one of the NASCAR drivers did in a virtual race recently.

Apologies. And RIP. Sheesh.

Clicky linky before commenty... ugh. LOL.

I didn't realize your post was a mistake, and thought perhaps the tweet from the sponsor was some dark British humor, which I thought was friggin' hilarious!

Regardless, RIP.

"It was one lap too many," she said. "He just closed his eyes."
Lady Moss

He was 90 and managed to live a life as full as any. There are deaths worse than that.

ROFL. Would have been funny, but alas, just me being an idiot. LOL.

RIP, Mr. Moss.

I met him once in Nassau, at a revival of Speed Week. A true gentleman racer.

It appears that one NASCAR driver did a little more than that recently.

I'm always impressed when a driver from that era survives to old age.

1958 was the first year that A. J. Foyt completed in the Indianapolis 500. Of the 33 men who drove in the race 13 would ultimately be killed in racing crashes. To say it was a high risk activity was an understatement.
