Can anyone recommend an AME in the Los Angeles area for a SI?

I reached out to the regional flight surgeon who gave me the few names to try and the first one's scheduler (Dr. Terence Thompson) acted like I was crazy trying to schedule a consultation prior to doing my medical to review my case before I do anything in med express.

Is trying to do a consultation prior to scheduling my actual medical abnormal? Seemed like it was generally recommended on here and other places for SI cases.
 
most will do consultations. But be aware - a consultation is generally the price of the medical. And when / if you do the medical - its the medical price again. The consult is not "free" like some people think it is. You must compensate them for their time.

Understandable, fully expect to pay for the consultation. Just would like someone to sit down and go through my case to make sure there are no surprises once I submit the application.
