A few years back I bought several Canadian Maple Leafs. These are very pure gold proof coins, at the time the purest gold one could purchase. I bought them for about $440 USD eac. Now that gold is booming I should be able to get about a 200% ROI or better.

Anyone now how I go about selling these things? All those 'we buy gold' store front places look like a rip off to me.

Give this guy a call, he'll probably buy it:

He'll probably pity you in the process, but so long as he gives you money I don't see a problem. ;)

We have this place near us and they may be able to help. I don't think they buy them but may be able to give you a value on them.

He sold all his gold I heard that on A&E or something.

Problem with selling gold is you can't get the market price. E.g. if gold sells at $800, you can sell yours to a dealer for $600.

I'm wondering about that too. I bought some American Eagles back in the late 1980s which I thought for years were the worst investment I ever made. I've also been considering selling them now that the gold price is up but I don't expect it to stay that way.

Remember gold is the standard, the dollar varies., right now the dollar is way down. watch the price of oil, that too is a standard on the open market.

For those who want to sell gold, ask your bank.

After you check with the bank, contact a local and VERY reputable coin store in the area.

How about eBay? I have sold a ton of stuff on eBay, and it does a great job of getting the seller market value. Certainly, it would do better than the 'Gold into Cash' places that have popped up in every vacant strip-mall.
