Taxi to Parking
I guess my point was that were I going to do it, I would do it without regard to a BFR, since the latter is pretty much a non-event for me.
A BFR takes a hundred bucks and an afternoon. Why would I replace it with something that costs ten times as much and takes way more time? The idea of an aviation vacation has merit, though.

Anyone ever tried their hands/feet at Seaplane? Yeah I just got my PPL but I'm interested to see what it's like. Hoping others have some experience.
A hundred bucks? My plane is more than that per hour, plus I'd have to pay a CFI on top of that. Plus I thought there was ground time and air time? Then again, I have special plans for my BFR which will cost closer to $1,000 so I guess it doesn't matter.
It gets better Kim, I haven't paid for a FR or IPC in several years. One day you'll have friends...
Brown's Seaplane in Florida has J-3s on floats for seaplane training.
Been to Jack Browns and flown one of their J-3's for a few take off and landings on a local lake, it was great fun, although as I am in the middle of my PPL training, the instructor told me NOT to come back and fly floats again until after I finish up my PPL training.
He suggested the differences between float and tri-wheel would mess around with my current training.
Time and cost for the float endorsement at Browns I believe is 6hrs and $1,200.
