SBY Hangar collapse sad irony.

I know this is completely irrational, and I don't think I'll get much support on this point from insurance adjusters, but that photo that floated around earlier of a roof collapsing on bizjets didn't blip my tragedy meter nearly as much as this one:

I agree, but it probably because we can relate to this picture more than we can to a bunch of biz jets getting creamed. I think it is easier to see ourselves in that picture.

That is just sick. The 29 Great Lakes and a Fly Baby too... Think I'll go check the roof of my hanger.

As Matt knows, Fly Babies can come back.

Absolutly correct! Plus I just don't see folks forming an emotional bond with a G IV but do with a piston pounder.

True. I can relate to the bizjet picture but these are mostly just business tools, not someone's baby. The bizjets were insured (I hope) and can be replaced.

What happened to Paul Ennis' airplanes is tragic, but it didn't happen at KSBY. Paul has a private strip on his own property north of town. Look for the private airport symbol about 5 miles NNW of KSBY labeled "ENNIS."

Hey Ron, if they decide to sell that plane, ask them how much they want for it. I know a buddy of mine who was looking for a vintage bird and it would be lovingly repaired.

I'll pass on your interest to those involved. How 'bout shooting me an email or PM with the necessary contact info?
