Is there anyone in the San Francisco area who might be willing to give a ride to someone I believe to be a deserving youngster? A 16yo from my area who likes aviation is in SF for 3 weeks and I think it would be a fine thing to see some aviating take place. I would be willing to assist with fuel costs.
This person works for me, has flown with me, and has demonstrated admirable characteristics of maturity and responsibility. A 30 minute flight, maybe a Bay tour, would be just about right in length.
Thanks!

I'm 135% sure Kimberly would be up for it.

Let's see how many people we can cram in to a 150....

Maybe. Depending on weather, timing and location.

I fly out of Palo Alto. A Bay Tour takes a bit longer than 30 minutes in a 172, but not by much. It may or may not be the best choice as there is nearly constant ATC chatter as it transitions two of the three busy commercial airports (KSFO and KOAK). And kids often enjoy a landing at Oakland, but that's not conventionally part of a Bay Tour. If the weather is good, a pop over to Half Moon Bay, and around the Golden Gate bridge (under Class B) is often eye popping. And it's more reasonable for the kid to fly in Class E.

I sent you a PM.

I fly out of San Jose International (KSJC), and I'd be willing to give your friend a Bay Tour (depending on weather and timing). Let me know.

Jim

If the dates work, I'd be happy to. I own a 182 out of KCCR.

Wow you folks are awesome, thank you for the offers. I will be checking dates and get back to some/all of you soon. Dave

People here are very, very nice.

As I said above, POA pilots are awesome.
Thank you, thank you all for the kind offers here, and by PM.
The young'un got a wonderful BayTour today, in beautiful weather, right seat in a gorgeous 89' Super Viking.
Huge thanks for making this happen, POA member 'jimhorner', a generous man and a dedicated promoter of GA.
