I think I achieved a new "personal best" on this flight, or - perhaps better said - before this flight: 47 minutes from engine start to take-off. From congestion on the ramp where we started to an erroneous IFR route clearance (which would have had us zigzag back and forth), to runway construction at the airport, to a delay in release for departure because we had to cross through the parallel runway's departure corridor... this flight had it all.

Once we were airborne, we enjoyed stunning views of Salt Lake City, the Great Salt Lake, and the Salt Flats. It's beautiful there!

If you ever come back to Seattle and need a place to stay or someone to give you local insights, please DM me.
Happy travels.

The delay aside, it was like a comedy of errors. I actually cringed when Tower asked if you can take off 32, you said yes, and then they cleared you for takeoff on 35.

BTW, I’ve seen similar at KDEN, including suggesting VFR in terms of delay when having to cross the main approach/departure corridor IFR. It didn’t seem that busy but with Hill AFB only 20 miles north ya never know.
