SAC to VGT route

I got my PA28-180 up north of 15,000ft and was still climbing. You can probably pick any pass you want.

Not worried about getting up to altitude I am more worried about being caught into a downdraft that will exceed the 180's performance. Plus I have no mountain flying experience, which I will do probably in the next couple of weeks.

The downdraft, if one exists during your crossing, will happen on the lee said of the mountian range.. You are headed West to East... Read, (tailwind).. If you get in one, go full throttle and fly down into decending terrain.. Also start with excess altitude...
