Hello all, I own a Pa23-180 Geronimo.....however I am stuck with the legacy autopilot two-some of a Century llB and the S-Tec 60 Pitch Stabilization System as there is not an approved alternate autopilot I can have installed. All was working flawlessly on my last flight. Due to some health issues I had to park the plane for about 7 months. With my health issues now hopefully behind me now, I flew the Geronimo this past weekend and the S-Tec 60 PSS control unit failed to energize - that is it stayed dark and didn't respond to any inputs. The test toggle switch works as it should and all buttons and wording light up. I checked the harnesses and unplugged and re-plugged in the main computer harness connector, and the connector on the back of the pitch control unit. No joy..... I thought of buying a control head off Ebay, swap the heads out and see if that might solve my issue......

Does anyone here have any suggestions on where to start?

Thank you!
Scott

Did you try to perform the pre-flight test indicated in the manual with no action/reaction on the controls?

Does heading/nav mode need to be engaged on your Century first for this PSS to operate?

Only other thing might be to use some electrical contact cleaner on all the connections.

Lastly, I’d try to find an avionics shop that has the test tools for the STECs. Where are you located? I think I used a shop in KMIE for my 60-2 a few years back.
